Java Programmer
(Bangkok)
Responsibilities:
Duties:
- Responsible to analysis, design, develop and testing to implement web-based applications by using Java Programming language and/or .NET Technology. To support Group Insurance business and develop new applications in web-based solution that integrated to core system and maintain existing web-applications that developed by variety programming tools such as .NET, ASP, VB, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Performs analysis, develops and designs for small to medium size programming tasks using COBOL/DB2 utilities with low to average level of complexity to support of business requirements
- Code new programs of various modules as well as adding new functionality to existing programs and develop Unit Test to ensure code meet the business and system requirements.
- Make required changes in coding during testing as well as maintenance phase.
- Ability to analyze problems and build logical constructs to solve problems in an efficient manner
- Has some knowledge of methodology, tools, standards and procedures to operate effectively in AS/400 programming environment.
- Ensures systems implementations occur in accordance with established Change Control procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve problem causes; and manage competing priorities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or equivalent is highly preferred.
- 2-3 years in Java/J2EE development experience and exposure to .NET/ASP.NET considered a plus, preferable in insurance industry
- Having knowledge to develop web-based application in Java programming language, J2EE, Struts framework, .NET and RDBMS, preferable in Microsoft SQL Server, DB2 and MS SQL reporting service.
- Experience to develop web-application to integrate with AS/400 (IBM iSeries)
- Excellent troubleshooting and good interpersonal/communication skills
- Ability to identify and analyze user requirements
- Good organizational and problem solving abilities
- Good verbal and written communications skills
