Head of Programme Management – SW Development
(Bangkok)
Responsibilities:
- The Head of Programme Management in Bangkok is accountable for project management team based in Bangkok. The role is also responsible for applying Project Management standards and method of working through coaching and mentoring. The individual will drive a team of 15-20 project managers working on the Project and EMT. These programmes are likely to be the highest priority/value in the organisation and have significant impact on the organisation. This role reports to the Premium Programme Manager.
- Key responsibilities:
- Apply and champions a method of working to ensure there is an effective representative and accurate business steer for the active elements of the programme (i.e. ensuring project governance is put in place to support delivery of the strategy).
- A role of proxy with Global resources to lead the process for dealing with rapid major change. Ensures the communication channels and processes are in place to notify the relevant people so that plans can be amended and the necessary action taken.
- Manages the Bangkok pool of Project Management professionals on behalf of the platform group.
- Responsible for project manager recruitment in Bangkok. In charge of the training, coaching and mentoring of the Bangkok project managers to obtain performance and to increase the synergy with the other Client sites.
- Act as a leader in the Project Management domain on behalf of Markets.
Requirements:
- Proven track record delivering medium scale projects or programmes within specified timescales and budgets in a complex and geographically diverse organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with major change and ambiguity
- Excellent Team management skill to lead a team of project managers (15-20 people)
- Strong project financial management skills and demonstrated ability to routinely deliver successful business outcomes.
- Expertise in project delivery, risk management, staff management, project communication, third-party supplier management, decision making and organizational change
- Strong communication & negotiation skills required and needs to be able to interface with a broad range of staff from Technical directors through to developers.
- A strong background in software development projects is required. The candidate should be self sufficient and be able to operate at a variety of levels in the organisation and provide effective leadership to a multi skilled, geographically dispersed team.
- Experience in delivering projects through a matrix management environment.
- Although not a prerequisite, knowledge and understanding of The Client, the markets that it serves, its customers and its competitors is highly desirable.
- PMI certification strongly preferred
- Computer Science degree preferred.
- 7 + years of project management experience required
- Excellent level of English
